Express Illustrated Readers

The Illustrated Readers is a series of books at four levels, which introduces students from the age of 11 upwards to English-speaking cultures and their histories through a collection of classic stories, legends and plays. The beautiful illustrations and clear, student-friendly layout make the stories easy to follow. The stories are developed in a serial format, each two-page episode having a corresponding page of activities to help students with comprehension and language .

The Illustrated reader, with accompanying audio Cds, are also ideal for use at home or for holiday studies. The accompanying audio CDs , which include answers to the exercises in the Activities section, provide a fully dramatised recording of the story and can be used on CD players or personal computers.

Each reader includes a biography or the author, a brief summary of the plot, character descriptions and a picture dictionary of the more challenging vocabulary in each episode.
